Duo Pianists Kirk Whipple & Marilyn Morales and the Cranberry Coast Concerts Chorale will present the finale of Beethoven’s ultimate symphonic masterpiece. The ensemble will perform Hugo Ulrich's arrangement for duet piano and choir. The featured choral soloists will be soprano Cathy Portlock, alto Joann Sardinha, tenor Chad Chaffee and baritone Marques Hollie.
Whipple & Morales and The CCC Chorale will also be joined by pianist Chris Brown in the world premier of Whipple's musical setting of Lewis Carroll's whimsical poem "Jabberwocky." This piece is a movement from Whipple's work in progress, "Dark and Stormy Night," scored for 1 piano / 6 hands, choir and 2 percussionists. Albert Iannuccilli will perform on butcher knives and drinking glasses in this piece. Musical settings of other famous poems will be added to the larger work and will be premiered in it's entirety next summer in Season 7 of Cranberry Coast Concerts.
Programs by The Cranberry Coast Concerts Chorale in Season 6 also include vocalists Mike Duarte, Lisa Hirsbrunner, Katie Ketchum, Steven King, Cathy Molitor, Jessica Schloesser, Steve Tinkham, Ellen Ugi and Linda Westgate.
Audience members will also have one final opportunity to bid on a reproduction of Mary Cassatt's "Two Children Playing by the Seashore," painted by local artist Josie Thoms. The painting was featured in San Francisco Bay Area performing artist Katie Ketchum's "Impressions of Mary Cassatt" earlier this summer. Proceeds from the auction of this painting will benefit Cranberry Coast Concerts.
Donations to the festival will be accepted at this final performance of Season 6. Children 5 – 17 free.
