Grace Baptist Boys Basketball One Game from Clinching Regular Season Title

Grace Baptist defeated their opponent 60-31.

y of Attleboro is one step closer to winning a regular-season boys’ basketball championship. The team, which competes in the  Massachusetts Association of Christian Schools defeated Pepperell Christian Academy, 60-31, Friday at the Mansfield SportsPlex.

Chris Redlund scored 23 points for the Centurions, who led the game from start to finish while beating PCA for the second time this season. The team also improved its league record to 7-2. GBCA is 9-6 overall.

Andrew Schoepfer scored 9 points, Connor McLernon scored 8 points and Lee Nichols tossed in 6 points as the Centurions moved to a 27-11 lead at the half.

Earlier in the week, Grace Baptist lost to Dublin Christian Academy, 55-44. After trailing by just four points (29-25) at halftime, the Centurions were outscored by a 14-5 margin in the third quarter.

Redlund scored 27 points and Zack Yoakum contributed 8 points.

The Centurions will travel to Palmer today to challenge Faith Christian Academy in their last MACS outing of the regular season. A victory would give Grace Baptist the regular-season title and the top seed in next weekend’s MACS State Tournament, which is slated to be held in Lunenburg.
