Grace Baptist Boys' Hoops Team Wins Massachusetts Association of Christian Schools Season Title

Grace Baptist Christian Academy of Attleboro wins MACS regular-season title.

The boys' basketball team of of Attleboro won the Massachusetts Association of Christian Schools championship game against Faith Christian Academy on Saturday.

The Grace Baptist boys outplayed host Faith Christian Academy, 56-28, to secure the regular-season championship.

The Centurions' Chris Redlund led the team with 21 points, as they completed their league schedule at 8-2.

New England Baptist Academy of West Bridgewater tied that regular-season mark, but Grace Baptist won with a higher finish, according to the league’s tie-breaker regulations.

Lee Nichols was responsible for 9 points and Connor McLernon 8 points.

“Faith gave us a good game for most of the first half until we finally pulled away in the second half,” Grace Baptist coach Jeff Nichols said. 

The win marked the fourth straight season that Grace Baptist won the MACS regular regular season. 

 “Our guys came together well as the season went on,” Coach Nichols said. “It was nice to be able to compete again in our league this year.”

Grace Baptist's Centurions will be the top seed in next weekend’s MACS State Tournament, which is slated to be held at Twin City Christian School of Lunenburg.

The Centurions girls' basketball team, which also won this year’s MACS regular-season title with a perfect 8-0 league record, 12-1 overall this season, will also be top seed in Lunenberg next week.
