Junior Warriors Split Wednesday Night Double Header with South Attleboro
The Seekonk second and third graders were victorious, 12-6 under the lights at Seekonk High School. Unfortunately, the seventh graders fell 14-12 to the White Hawks.

The Seekonk Junior Warriors got a chance to play under the lights at Seekonk High School on Wednesday night. There will be a few more dates under the lights because the Warrior Varsity team will be away from home for the next month.
The Junior Mites (second and third graders) were victorious over South Attleboro, with a 12-6 victory. Coach Steve Wickham admitted it was, "tough to be tied at the half when we dominate a game like that," when Jared Moran's touchdown was matched near the end of the first half.
The Mites had driven down the field three times, resulting in a touchdown and two turnovers. They went to halftime tied at 6-6. But Robby LaBeau scored after the break to give Seekonk a 12-6 lead, and the team dominated possesion from there on. The final was 12-6 and Wickham called it a "solid effort" after the final horn.

The seventh grade team did not have as much success. Zach Emmanuel was an unstoppable force in the early going. On Seekonk's first drive, he ran for consecutive first downs, followed by a third carry for a touchdown to open the scoring. Seekonk led 7-0.
After a prompt stop by the Seekonk defense, Emmanuel was back to terrorizing the South Attleboro defense. He took the first snap after Seekonk regained possesion back to the promised land for a 12-0 lead. Seekonk suffered boched snaps on both PAT attempts, which would cost them dearly.

The kickoff following Emmanuel's second touchdown run was run back, cutting the Seekonk lead to 12-7. This score, along with Seekonk's defense, would hold until the very late minutes.
In the final minutes of the game, South Attleboro completed a touchdown pass to gain the lead at 14-12. This score would hold up, despite a strong last charge from the Seekonk offense.
"We ran a nice play on that fake to Zach, too," said coach Jim Lamareaux of his team's last ditch effort to regain the lead. The Seekonk offense ran a play action fake, seemingly going back to Emmanuel, their bread and butter from the first half. They threw over the top, and missed a completion that would have won them the game by about two feet.
