Craw, who has a son currently attending , says she wants to give back to her community by serving on the committee and working to improve the district.

“I have a vested interest in the school system,” said Craw, who added that she spends a lot of time in the schools and serves Thacher's Parent Teacher Organization. “I see the issues first hand.”

Offerings

Craw hopes to bring her years of business experience from both her education at Katherine Gibbs School and from her career to the committee and help with the various budgetary issues that the committee currently faces.

“I’ve worked with tight budgets before,” Craw said.

Her personality is well suited to work with others in committee setting, according to Craw. “I’m very even keeled," she said. "I listen. I’m not someone who makes rash decisions.”

Additionally, Craw said that as a parent and a member of the PTO she is in touch with what is going on at Attleboro's schools. She said, not only does she know the issues that schools face, but also knows about the concerns of other parents and teachers.

Issues That Matter

“There are some things that could use improvement,” Craw said of the district, including the current special education programs.

Additionally, Craw is in favor of an attempt to bring a free, full-day kindergarten program to the district and said she is focused on improving courses and foreign language classes.

“I’d like to see new programs and further the existing ones."
