Not Your Average Joe's Plans on Moving to the Neighborhood

Not Your Average Joe's, a restaurant chain that utilizes local seasonal ingredients and boasts a bold decor, is making moves to open shop on Route 6 - specifically at 1125 Fall River Ave. - the former site of Bugaboo Creek before the its Seekonk site.

Representitives from Not Your Average's Joe's asked the Seekonk Board of Selectmen to approve a liquor license transfer from Bugaboo Creek to its restaurant weeks ago. Selectmen agreed to the motion.

According to Town Planner John Hansen, representatives from the chain still need to get approvals from the Seekonk Zoning Board to open up shop, noting he expects them to open before the year's end. A site plan does not need review from the Seekonk Planning Board since the restaurant will occupy the same space as the former Bugaboo Creek building.

"They don't need to come before us - they're basically swapping names on the building," Hansen said.
