Patch Picks: We All Scream for Ice-Cream

Frozen sweet treats from the soft serve cone to the banana are close by to keep us cool.

  • Purple Cow, 141 Central Ave., Seekonk:  Purple Cow is a cute old fashioned stand that serves up a variety of flavors of both hard and soft ice cream. My personal favorite is the hard frozen yogurt (there is also soft serve frozen yogurt as well). There are picnic tables in front for you to relax and watch the world go by as you savor a delightful treat. The service is friendly and the ice cream is a perfect dessert after dinner. They only take cash.
  • Sundaes, Seekonk:  Sundae’s is another stand style ice cream place that not only serves up great cold stuff, but also has a frozen concoction for your dog! There are tables outside as well.
  • Cold Stone Creamery, Seekonk:  If you like mix-ins and those giant waffle cones, and maybe a little live entertainment, take a trip to Coldstone's. The employees sometimes like to sing a little while they create. It’s a fun place where you can view the process of how their signature items are made.
  • Newport Creamery, Seekonk: Newport Creamery serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner alongside their ice cream. Also they have counter service outside if you just want to stop by for an Awful-Awful shake.
  • Uncle Ed's Front Porch, Rehoboth: On Route 44, Ed's is a dairy paradise! Their home made ice cream and creative flavors have made me a huge fan.
