Students Dodge Balls to Help the Attleboro Area Homeless
Raising funds for annual Christmas dinner to feed the hungry.
Five years ago Principal Bill Runey read that the was going extinct because of a lack of funds. That's when Runey turned to the Attleboro high school's Mercy Works Committee to inquire about donating funds to keep the annual dinner, which feeds the hungry on Christmas day, an ongoing tradition.
"We did and from that point a partnership was built," Runey said. "Two years later Jeff Newman, principal at and Bob Gay, then principal at North Attleboro High School, and I formed One FAN with the motto "Three Schools; One Cause.
The group meets regularly to find ways to raise money for the cause."We use our rivalry to attract attention to the need to feed the homeless," he added.

And it worked! Attleboro High School, OneFAN hosted a Dodgeball Tournament tonight to raise funds to assist the homeless. More than $500 in proceeds was raised for the Edward Tedesco Memorial Christmas Dinner being held at the on Christmas Day.
Two teams won bragging rights including the Women's Division Champions, The Purple Cobras and the Men's Division Champions, Team Snowflake.
