Studley Elementary Closer to Funding New Playground
A total of $30,000 has been collected for a new playground at one Attleboro school, but organizers need more support.
The Attleboro School Committee approved a request for a recommendation for the release of $58,600 from the Trust fund to the Studley Elementary Parent Teacher Organization during its monthly meeting Monday night. The funds will be used to pay for a new playground at the school.
The PTO expects the project to cost $81,000 and is hoping to have a total of $89,000 to provide a cushion in case there are any unforeseen costs. The PTO, led by Lance Hill and Matt Cody, has already raised $30,000 and is asking for the remaining funds to come from the trust.
“We didn’t want to come to the committee for the full amount," Hill said. "We wanted to show our due diligence and our hard work."

While the request for release of the funds was unanimously approved by the school committee, the request still needs the approval of the A. Irvin Studley Trust Fund Board of Trustees.
