Sturdy Surgeons Armed with New Equipment
New technology helps Sturdy surgeons see their patients more clearly.

Patients undergoing orthorpedic and urological procedures at in Attleboro will be in good hands now that the surgeons there are armed with new equipment.
The hospital has added the Elite C-Arm, a portable fluoroscopic unit, which is used to create images of a surgery patient's internal structures and organs in real time. The modern device captures high-definition images and displays them on 15-inch monitors in a more accurate and timely manner, according to the hosptial.
Dr. James Snead, an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, said the C-arm's images are extremely helpful during surgery because it increases patient safety by reducing radiation dosage and reducing the chance of collision with a patient's anatomy.

“The benefits of the C-Arm are many, but most importantly it will keep us current with the rapidly evolving technological advances in surgery,” Director of Imaging Nancy Moynihan said in a release.
