USA Rugby Names Seekonk Native All-American

Ashley George, a recent Stonehill College graduate, was named to the 2011 Division II Collegiate Women's All-American team.

Ashley George, a recent graduate of Stonehill College in Easton, MA, has been named to the 2011 Division II Collegiate Women's All-American rugby team.

A 2007 graduate of Seekonk High School, Ashley ran both cross country and track and field for Coach Eli Mello. She joined the Stonehill College women's rugby team her freshman year and took a starting position. Her team won the Division III National Championship in fall of 2007, then moved up to Division II in the fall of 2008.

Throughout the remainder of her career at Stonehill, she traveled all over the country playing matches. Her team qualified for the Final Four of Women's Division II Rugby in the spring of 2009 and 2011.

After graduating in May, Ashley took a full-time position at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. She is working in the Division of Plastic Surgery as a practice coordinator.
