Viewfinder: Civil War Makes a Resurgence in Library
The library presented a program filled with unusual medical practices and ways to have a tiny waist.
Last Wednesday night, some antiquated visitors made their way to the Seekonk Public Library. Southcoast Historical Associates presented replicas and original Civil War artifacts and artillery for a unique perspective on the life of the common soldier during the Civil War.
The event is timely. The years 2011 – 2015 mark the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War. Battles and the role of Massachusetts units including the 54th all black regiment and the 28th Massachusetts Irish Brigade were highlighted.
