Wyatt Detention Facility Graduates 23 New Correctional Officers
New officers represent Wyatt's ongoing commitment to safety and security.

The Wyatt Detention Facility (WDF) is pleased to announce the graduation of its 49th class of graduates from its Correctional Officer Training Academy in Central Falls. The ceremony, which took place on September 3rd, celebrated 23 new correctional officers from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

The new officers successfully completed an eight-week training program in prison management and facilitation in alignment with WDF’s policies and procedures. WDF Warden Daniel Martin presided over the ceremony along with other key WDF executive staff, addressing the graduates and their families as well as presenting awards to the recent graduates.
“We take great pride in educating the hardworking men and women who commit themselves to ensuring the Wyatt Detention Facility is a safe, humane, and professional environment for our detainees and staff,” said Warden Daniel Martin, Wyatt Detention Facility. “I look forward to working with this well-prepared group of officers to take on the challenges and responsibilities associated with this job.”

Several awards were presented during the ceremony including the Instructor’s Award presented to both Maria Nobre of Central Falls and Daylue Goah of Pawtucket; and the Peer Award presented to Mark Carrara of Cranston who was also the 49th Class Leader.
