• Press Release AG Campbell Blocks Avon Debt Collector From Operating In Massachusetts, Secures Over $50 Million In Debt Relief For Consumers (mass.gov) — A debt collection company based in Avon has been permanently barred from operating in Massachusetts, with over 6,000 residents receiving about $52 million in debt relief. State officials say the firm, run by Andrew Metcalf, used aggressive tactics like seizing low-value vehicles unrelated to car loans. The settlement also blocks the defendants from ever obtaining a Massachusetts debt collector license.
