• MBTA Orange Line service suspended between Forest Hills and Back Bay for five days (wcvb.com) — Orange Line trains are not running between Forest Hills and Back Bay for five days, so Back Bay riders must use free shuttle buses or fare-free Commuter Rail to reach downtown. The MBTA is using the shutdown to accelerate major repairs and accessibility upgrades at Ruggles, Jackson Square, and other key points, and riders should plan at least 30 extra minutes for trips.
   

• Megan Gates named as new Pine Street Inn Board Chair (thebostonsun.com) — Pine Street Inn has expanded its supportive housing into Back Bay, now serving tenants in new residences that offer on-site help with life skills, health care, and job training. At the same time, longtime South End resident Megan Gates has been named board chair, guiding the organization's efforts to move more people from homelessness into stable homes across Boston.
