Boston City Councilors Receive Committee Assignments

Connolly will continue to chair Education Committee; O'Malley to chair Environment & Health Committee.

While most folks were burrowed in their homes on Wednesday due to the massive snowstorm - the held their regularly scheduled meeting. At the meeting  handed out committee assignments.

For first-term , he was tapped to chair the Environment & Health Committee, and vice chair the Economic Development & Planning. He was also assigned to be a member of several other committees, including the Education Committee.

“I am thrilled with my committee assignments,” said O’Malley in a press release.  “The work of these committees reflects my top priorities: the education of the city’s children, the protection of our environment, the health of Boston’s residents, growing our city’s economy, and the safety of our neighborhoods... I am eager to work with these committees and tackle some of the major issues facing Boston."

Just like last year, At-Large Boston City Councilor John Connolly was chosen to chair the Education Committee. Last year  that saw educators, students, parents and other members of the community to testify about the pros and cons of the Boston Public School system.

Connolly was also named vice chair of the Housing Committee, as well as a member of several other committees.
