Break-In at Bottega Fiorentina Restaurant

Police say the door was broken, the cash register open, receipts strewn about the floor, and money missing.

People passing by Monday morning noticed the door was broken.

Police responded to a call of a possible break-in at 9:15 a.m. They entered the 264 Newbury St. restaurant, and found the cash register wide open, receipts strewn about the floor, and an undisclosed amount of money missing.

Officers spoke to the witnesses who noticed the damaged door, and store owners say they closed down at 11 p.m. Sunday night, a release said. Boston Police are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Area D-4 detectives at (617) 343-5619.
