Concerts In The Courtyard: Celia Slattery

Somerville-based singer Celia Slattery’s original music weaves elements of jazz, pop, and folk/rock with perceptive lyrics inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. The songs touch upon broad-ranging themes including friendship and finding hope in troubled times.

Celia also covers music by songwriters ranging from George Gershwin to Adele. In performance, she provides context for the songs with stories and humor. Celia is accompanied by Bill Duffy on the piano. Bill has been entertaining audiences on both coasts for 30 years, and has backed up a veritable “who’s who” of Boston R&B, jazz, and cabaret artists.
