Spend Saturday night on Newbury Street grooving to the unique fusion jazz of Boston’s acclaimed DÜNYA ensemble. Led by musician-composer Mehmet Ali Sanlıkol, the group will perform original music fusing the makam (Middle Eastern modal concepts) and jazz. An expert in a range of classical and contemporary musical genres, Sanlıkol, a professor at New England Conservatory and Brown University, has performed at festivals around the world.
