The Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) is continuing its popular “Behind the Curtain” series with a exclusive look into the SpeakEasy Stage Company’s Tony- and Pulitzer-winning musical Next to Normal at the Boston Center for the Arts’ Calderwood Pavilion. The series, which has already gone inside the Boston Ballet’s performance of Romeo and Juliet and the Boston Opera House’s production of South Pacific, is aimed at showing students Boston’s historic theaters and revealing a look behind the scenes of world-class performances.
On Wednesday, March 21st, 2012 from 6:15PM-10:00PM, BCAE students will enjoy the SpeakEasy Stage Company’s production of Next to Normal, a compelling and surging pop rock musical that shatters the idealism of American suburbia with an exploration of mental illness. The event, which costs $65.00, includes admission to an exclusive pre-show talk with members of the cast and a representative from the National Alliance on Mental Illness who will discuss the realities of mental illness for patients, their families, and their caregivers.
Next to Normal is a powerful and emotional drama that speaks to all audience members with its lessons on love, loss and hope. Don’t miss this opportunity to peek behind the curtain and enjoy a first-rate production. Registration is necessary. Please visit bcae.org or call 617-267-4430 to sign up today!
