Five Arrested For Graffiti Tagging
Suspects tried to hide from police and flee on a bike; one crashed bike into cruiser.

Five suspects accused of graffiti tagging were arrested after attempting to hide from police and flee on bicyles early this morning.
Dana Cataldo, 25, of Halifax, William Grady, 24, of Milford, Timothy O'Brien, 23, of Hanson, and Patricia Nelson, 23, of Brookline, were arrested and charged with damage to property by graffiti tagging. Male Shannon Craig, 23, of Plympton, was also charged with resisting arrest after refusing to take his hands out of his pockets, according to police.
Officers responded at 2:24 a.m. to a report of graffiti tagging in progress at 939 Boylston Street, directly across from The Mentei Japanese Noodle Cafe on Hereford Street. A witness who was looking out his window said he saw five people writing on buildings with blue spray paint and jumping on his car.

After searching the area police found three people hiding behind a wall at the on 951 Boylston St., and two people on bicycles. One of them, Nelson, "looked at officers with wide eyes and fled on her bicycle out of the alley toward Boylston Street," and crashed her bike into a police cruiser as she was trying to evade officers, according to the report.
When asked where she was coming from, she responded, "What if I am coming from someplace that I shouldn't have been?"

Officers saw blue paint on all four of the male suspect's hands. Tagging included "sexual references" at the rear of The on 320 Newbury Street, "bathroom references"on the outhouse in the rear of 324 Newbury Street, and the words "EAT THE MEEK/POOR" on the rear of the fire house.
