Remember 9/11: From Peace, Propelled into War
The terrorist struck three days after firefighter Frank Lang finished bootcamp for the Marines.

Frank Lang, a firefighter at the on Boylston Street, joined the Marines during peace time. He finished bootcamp on Sept. 7, 2001. Four days later, the terrorist attack changed his life.
"It was pretty intense, as far as something like that happening," he said. "You know you're going to war."
At 19-years-old, Lang was anxious, nervous and excited. He joined the 5th Battalion, 11th Marines, and served four tours in Iraq - the last being in 2008 when he was involuntarily recalled. He's one of 14 firefighters from the Broadway firehouse who will head to Ground Zero on Sept. 11 for the 10-year anniversary ceremonies in New York.
