Man Punches Pro Palestinian Marcher

A man at the Pro Palestinian March on Friday, March 30, told police he "got drunk and punched the idiot" during an altercation at the event.

Robert Herwald, of 25 Litchfield St. Boston, was arrested on 491 Boylston St., and charged with disturbing the peace after police heard "multiple parties yelling that the suspect had just assaulted a participant of the march."

Officers forced him to the ground and cuffed him. The victim left the scene without providing a statement. He was later located, and said he didn't wish to push criminal charges.

Herwald was found with an open 50 ml bottle of Bushmills whiskey and a can of Natural Ice beer. A witness told police Herwald punched the victim with a closed fist.

After being his miranda rights Herwald told police "I got drunk and punched the idiot."

Zara Vandalized with Blue Symbol on Windows

The manager and security officer at Zara reported on Saturday, March 31 at 2:15 p.m. that someone drew a large symbol in blue magic marker on the front windows at 214 Newbury. The manager said she didn't see anything when she went in at 9 a.m. The unknown symbol was four feet by four feet.

Caught with His Pants Down

Ryan Koch, of 114 Beacon St. Boston, was arrested on Saturday, March 31 at 9:51 a.m. and charged with drinking in public after police spotted him standing on Newbury Street "with his shorts around his ankles." Officers stopped Koch and his friend, who appeared to be intoxicated, and who said they had just returned from a liquor store with a 12 pack of Miller Lite beer.
