Stabbing Outside New York Pizza on Tremont

Homicide unit was called then canceled.

A man was stabbed just after midnight on Wednesday, outside of New York Pizza on 226 Tremont Street.

At 12:29 a.m. employees inside the restaurant saw the victim, a 23-year-old while male, with "blood squiring up the left side of his chest" according to the police report. They grabbed towels and applied pressure to help slow the bleeding.

The wound was initially believed to be fatal; a homicide unit was called, and then canceled, and the victim was transported to Tufts Medical Center. His name is not being released.
