Q: What district did you come from?
I was the Superintendent of Schools for the Agawam Public School District for the past 9 years.
Q: How will you approach the new school year?

I will be visible in the schools and the community and will work to gain an understanding of the culture of the school district. I am honored to serve in this position and look forward to meeting the students, staff and parents.
Q: What do you think will be the biggest adjustment?

Living in a new community.
Q: What do you think will be the biggest challenge this year?
There will be many challenges including developing a new teacher and administrator evaluation instrument, declining student enrollment, negotiating seven union contracts.
Q: How have you started connecting with staff and faculty from the district?
Yes, I have met many new staff and faculty and everyone has been most welcoming and I look forward to our work together.
Q: What do you think is the #1 thing Barnstable School District needs to improve?
At this point, I need time to assess the school district.
Q: What is the best thing about BSD?
The collaboration between town and school and the students and staff I have already met.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you're not working?
Walk on the beach.
Q: What is 1 thing you want the community to know about you?
I am approachable.
Q: What should parents and voters be expecting of you this year?
They should expect my decisions to be based upon what is in the best interest of our students.
