2 Cape Teens Suffer Life-Threatening Injuries After Hitting Tree
Two students at Upper Cape Technical Vocational School suffered life-threatening injuries after their car struck a tree off Route 28.

BOURNE, MA — Two teen boys from Bourne suffered life-threatening injuries after their truck slid off the icy road and crashed into a tree. Police said the crash happened at 7:19 a.m. Tuesday on Route 28 near Barlows Landing Road.
The driver and passenger were 17 and 14-year-old students at Upper Cape Technical Vocational School in Bourne. Police said firefighters had to use mechanical equipment to free the students from the wreckage.
Both students were rushed to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, with life-threatening injuries. The boys are since out of surgery and are in the intensive care unit, Upper Cape Vocational officials said in a Facebook post. Both are stable but are still listed as in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
