83-Year-Old Bicyclist Hit By Pickup And Killed: Wellfleet Police

The driver of the Toyota Tundra that hit the cyclist remained on the scene and cooperated with officers, police said.

WELLFLEET, MA — An 83-year-old bicyclist was hot by a pickup truck and killed Monday morning, police said.

A Toyota Tundra struck the cyclist shortly before 11 a.m. near the intersection of Route 6 and Lieutenant Island Road, the Wellfleet Police Department said in a media release.

The cyclist was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.

"The operator of the vehicle, a 37-year-old male from New
Hampshire, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the
investigation," the release said.

The dead man's name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin, according to the release.
