Hyannis Shopping Plaza Says 'Take A Stroll' On Memorial Day Weekend, Offers Deals

The 26-acre shopping center is trying to attract business as the Cape's summer season begins.

HYANNIS, MA — The Landing at Hyannis, a local shopping plaza, says it will kick off Memorial Day weekend with a family-friendly “summer stroll” featuring live music, pop-up merchants, shopping deals and lots of other activities.

The free festival takes place Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at The Landing, 790 Iyannough Road (Route 132), near Barnstable Village. A rain date is scheduled for May 30 from noon to 2 p.m.

Strollers can enjoy lawn games, bubbles, music from Cape Tunes Disc Jockeys and a variety of “pop-up experiences” throughout the afternoon, according to a news release.

A new store, Sandwich-based Sweetish Fish, will serve Swedish candy from its “Guppy Cart,” and the first 100 shoppers who show proof of purchase from a Landing retailer will receive a complimentary goodie bag.

Sweetish Fish launched last year and has been spawning more recently. A store in Boston's Seaport District is scheduled to open in October, and there are other locations planned.

Also at The Landing, Bass River Blooms will host a bloom bar, offering free 10-stem bouquets to the first 50 guests, along with custom floral bouquets available for purchase.

Many retailers at The Landing will have Memorial Day weekend promotions, including discounts at J. Crew Factory, Old Navy, SkinMD, The Paper Store and Warby Parker. Nordstrom Rack says it will feature snacks and a spin-the-wheel giveaway for prizes including gift cards and gift bags.

The Landing at Hyannis is a 26-acre shopping and dining plaza, directly across from the Cape Cod Mall.
