Patricia W. Kennedy of Brewster Joins Cape Cod Community College Board of Trustees

Co-founder of the multimillion dollar global business software/services company BackOffice Associates LLC of Harwich, MA, Patricia (Trish) Kennedy of Brewster, MA has been named to the Cape Cod Community College Board of Trustees by Governor Deval Patrick. Assuming her new role at the September, 2011 meeting, Ms. Kennedy will serve through 2016.

The new Trustee brings 15 years of experience taking a two-person company, begun with her husband Tom, and transforming it into a highly profitable global organization with a staff of 500 worldwide.  In its early years, Ms. Kennedy served first as VP Sales and Marketing, Chief Operating Officer, and then Chief Executive Officer.  After BackOffice Associates secured a second major growth equity investment by Goldman Sachs Capital Partners in May 2011, Ms. Kennedy recently stepped down as CEO, but remains critically involved in the business as Chief Operating Officer, and heads the company’s Consulting Services division.

College President Kathleen Schatzberg was extremely pleased to hear of the Governor’s appointment, noting, “She is an outstanding addition to our Board, where many different segments of the region’s economy are represented today, including banking, hospitality, publishing, municipal government, and law. Her business acumen and entrepreneurial skills will be invaluable, especially as a link to the region’s technology and business sectors. “

Along with her husband, Ms. Kennedy has been active in a wide range of community affairs, including partnering with the Town of Harwich on a number of initiatives and involvement in the K-12 school system.  Additionally, Back Office Associates has provided philanthropic support to a wide range of local causes including, but not limited to: CCCC College Connections program in Harwich, Lower Cape Outreach Council, Cape Cod Healthcare, Cape Abilities, etc.

Ms. Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a board member of the BackOffice Associates, LLC Board of Managers, a board member of the International Maritime Business Advisory Board at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and a member of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation.
