Barnstable Attracts 2 of 3 'Presidential' School Chiefs

Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents awarded three Presidential Awards for excellence this year.

This year, the saying "two out of three ain't bad" is quite appropriate for Barnstable Schools. Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents awarded two of three 2011 Presidential Awards for excellence to the outgoing and incoming superintendents.

"The fact that we have been able to attract two of the best Superintendents in the the state to our town is a compliment to the talented staff and administrators in our school district as well as to the great working relationship with our municipal government," School Committee Chair Patrick Murphy said in an email. "We are fortunate to have both of these educational leaders serving our community. We congratulate Dr. Grenier and Dr. Czajkowski."

A MASS statement announcing Mary Czajkowski's award said, "During her tenure as school superintendent Mary has increasingly demonstrated strong leadership in her district and as a member of M.A.S.S. where she has provided significant contributions to state policy issues."
