Barnstable COVID-19 Positivity Rate Drops Below 10%

The positive test rate in Barnstable decreased from 13.52 to 9.48 percent. As of Thursday, the state positive test rate was 2.76 percent​.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable's coronavirus metrics continued to drop, and for the first time in about two months, the positivity rate dropped below 10 percent, according to the latest municipal-level data released by the Department of Public Health Thursday.

The positive test rate in Barnstable decreased from 13.52 to 9.48 percent. As of Thursday, the state positive test rate was 2.76 percent.

The town had 248 cases in the last two weeks, or 38.6 daily cases per 100,000 residents.

Both the positive rate and the case total decreased from last week's report.

The state also reported that Barnstable has 82.4 percent of its residents fully vaccinated. About 43 percent of Barnstable residents have gotten the booster.
