The Barnstable Police Department collected 536.5 POUNDS of unwanted medications at this event. The medication collection occurred over a six month period . The benefits of dropping off your unwanted medications to the Police Department are twofold. First, removing potentially dangerous medications from your home reduces the risk of drugs getting into the hands. Second, prescription and over the counter medications are a source of pollution when they are flushed down the toilet or drain.
For your convenience, a medication collection kiosk is available in our lobby (1200 Phinney’s Lane, Hyannis MA) for drop off each and every day 24/7.
