Barnstable's Strawberry Hill Construction Enters Noisy Phase

The Strawberry Hill Road Pump Station project is continuing, with the next two weeks expected to bring "noise and vibrations." What to know.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Heavy equipment is needed for the next phase of the Strawberry Hill Road Pump Station project in Barnstable, which could get noisy for nearby residents, town officials said.

The Town of Barnstable’s Contractor, CC Construction, has begun mobilizing equipment to the 528 Craigville Beach R.d parcel, in close proximity to the intersection of Strawberry Hill Road and Craigville Beach Road in anticipation of the start of construction for the Strawberry Hill Road Pump Station.

On Monday, CC Construction began the installation of support of excavation measures for the construction of the station.

This phase of the work will "require significant construction equipment in order to drive piles and sheeting to establish a support system for the excavation effort that will be required to install the station."

During this phase of the work, residents can expect noise and vibrations to be generated from the installation of the piles and sheeting, officials said. The phase is anticipated to last roughly two weeks, and will occur Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
