Bites Nearby: B2 Burrito Bistro
You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Barnstable-Hyannis Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:
Overview: B2 Burrito Bistro, located in the Capetown Plaza, is open for lunch and dinner. The burritos are made using fresh ingredients, and it is a popular choice for people looking for a quick meal, to take out or a place to sit, read the paper, and enjoy a burrito, smoothie, or a coffee. It is also a Wi-Fi hotspot, so it is a great place to get some work done.
Decor: The space is open and airy. You can sit at a table or a booth. The walls are decorated with local art that match the modern and casual atmosphere of the restaurant.
The Drinks: B2 offers Corona, Sam Adams and Bud Light bottled beer, as well as 4oz bottles of Barefoot Wine. They also offer coffee, tea and espresso.
Appetizers: The Sakas menu features a Tostada salad or a tortilla hard shell with romaine lettuce, beans, sour cream, cheese, guacamole and salsa fresca ($5.99) and a Caesar Salad ($5.39). The soup menu offers Black Bean Soup, Corn Chowder and the Soup of the Day. You have your choice of three sizes a Cup ($3.39), a Bowl ($4.39) or Grande ($5.39).
Entrees: B2 offers traditional Mexican burritos, such as the Burrito Max with beans, rice, cheese, sour cream, salsa fresca, guacamole with your choice of beef, chicken, pork, steak, fix or veggies ($6.39/$9.19) and the Fajita Burrito with rice, chargrilled veggies mix cheese and sour cream with your choice of beef, chicken, pork, steak, fix or veggies ($6.39/$9.19). Their Modern Menu features a Thai Burrito with chicken, satay peanut sauce, rice, lettuce, cabbage, carrots and cilantro ($6.39/$9.19); the Southern Burrito with pork, barbeque sauce, rice, pinto beans and cheese ($6.39/$9.19); The Philly Cheese Steak Burrito has steak, cheese, chargrilled peppers, onions, mushrooms, and rice ($6.39/$9.19). Any burrito can also be served in a bowl with a tortilla on the side.
Sides: Guacamole made fresh everyday (.99/$1.99), black or pinto beans ($1.99), chili and cheese dip ($1.29), or a bean and rice mix ($1.99).
Desserts: B2 bakes chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, and white chocolate macadamia nut jumbo cookies everyday.
