Cape Cod Hospital Is Top 100 In U.S. For Coronary Intervention

HYANNIS, MA — Healthgrades named Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis one of the United States' 100 best hospitals for coronary intervention.

Healthgrades, a company that connects people with doctors and health care centers, released its rankings this week. The rankings come from evaluating the performances of nearly, 4,500 hospitals nationwide.

From 2018-2020, patients treated at hospitals receiving the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Coronary Intervention Award had a 46.6 percent lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award, according to Healthgrades.

The award marked the 11th straight year Cape Cod Hospital has received the honor.

Cape Cod Hospital was additionally recognized for the following clinical achievements in cardiac care, as part of Healthgrades' Specialty Excellence Awards:

• Coronary Intervention Excellence Award for 15 years in a row
• Top 5 percent in the Nation for Coronary Interventional Procedures for 14 years in a row
• Top 10 percent in the Nation for Coronary Interventional Procedure for 15 years in a row
• Cardiac Surgery Excellence Award for 5 years in row
• Top 10 percent in the Nation for Cardiac Surgery for 5 years in a row
• Five-Star Recipient for Valve Surgery for 5 years in a row
• Five-Star Recipient for Coronary Interventional Procedures for 15 years in a row
