A Hyannis man turned himself in at the Plymouth police station over the weekend. Barnstable police are now handling the investigation.
HYANNIS, MA — A Hyannis man turned himself in for an attempted murder charge at the Plymouth police station through a phone call from the Barnstable Police Department.
On Friday around 8:30 p.m., Paulo Farias, 26, of Hyannis, entered the lobby of Plymouth Police headquarters where he took off his shirt, kneeled on the ground, put his hands above his head and was holding his phone, officials said.
When Lieutenant George Driscoll and Officer Kyle Kreitzer approached, they could hear a man on the phone, identifying himself as a Barnstable police detective telling them that Farias had "just shot someone, was wanted for attempted murder, and to put him into custody," police said.
