Cape Cod Man Indicted On Ammunition Charges
A Hyannis man — and convicted felon — illegally possessed over 60 rounds of ammunition, officials said.
HYANNIS, MA — A Cape Cod man could face a decades-long sentence after he was indicted on charges of illegal ammunition possession as a felon.
Timothy Lee Galvin, 31, was indicted on one count of being a felon in possession of ammunition. Galvin is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to three prior drug distribution convictions, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts said.
According to the charging documents, around June 2 in Barnstable Galvin was in possession of three rounds of 9mm ammunition, 11 rounds of .45 caliber ammunition and 47 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

The charge carries a heavy sentence, with a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to life in prison. Sentencing also calls for five years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000.
