Cape Cod Symphony Youth Orchestra Embarks on “Overseas” Tour
Located in Barnstable and Falmouth, the Cape Cod Symphony Youth Orchestra is hosting a broad range of upcoming events - many free of charge.

With budding musicians and prodigees from Falmouth to Barnstable to Orleans on its roster of talent, the Cape Cod Symphony Youth Orchestra will begin to wrap up its 2011-12 season this week with performances and concerts across the Cape.
This Friday, May 18, from 3:30pm – 6:00pm, the CCSYO will be performing at the Broad Reach Healthcare Center at Liberty Commons, 390 Orleans Road in North Chatham, followed by a trip "overseas" the next day on Saturday, May 19.
Saturday, May 19, the Cape Cod Symphony Youth Orchestra will wrap up its season with an “overseas” tour, in collaboration with the Nantucket Community Music Center. String students from each organization will perform together, first at the Riverview School in East Sandwich on May 19 at 2 pm, and then again on June 3 when students head across Nantucket Sound to perform at the First Congregational Church of Nantucket at 3 pm.

The public is invited to attend these free events for an inside look at this unique performance opportunity for young musicians. Auditions for the Cape Cod Symphony Youth Orchestra will be held in early June for the 2012/2013 season, commencing this fall.
The Cape Cod Symphony Youth Orchestra is an inspiring educational/performance program bringing talented young musicians of all ages and skill levels together to perform symphonic music under the direction of Music Director Joan Landry and Conductor Dan Flonta. Participating students are also exposed to workshops and master classes conducted by CCSO musicians and guest artists with the CCSO’s Classics Series.

Auditions for new orchestra members will be held on June 5, 6, and 7, 2012. Placement auditions for all members - new and returning - will be held September 8 & 15, 2012. Students are encouraged, however, to schedule a placement audition and enroll at any time. Call 508.362.2772 or email to schedule a placement audition.
