Cape Cod Woman Charged In Drunk Topless Threat Has Some Kind Of Record

SANDWICH, MA — A Cape Cod woman charged with threatening a police officer with a dagger while topless and drunk over the weekend reportedly has a history of recent arrests. Susan Kettell, 39, of Sandwich, was arrested for her latest alleged run-in with police Saturday and charged with a host of crimes, including driving while intoxicated (second offense), lewd conduct and assault.

Her arrest history reportedly includes arrests for allegedly breaking into a store and stealing potato chips this year and assaulting an individual last year.

On Saturday, police said Kettell was driving a blue Ford Explorer at about noon when police said she tried to crash her SUV into a driver in an act of road rage. The driver turned out to be an off-duty police officer, according to the Cape Cod Times.

"(Kettell) then pulled behind the caller at a red traffic signal," Sandwich police said in a statement. "She began waving a double edged dagger knife out of the window. She exited the Explorer, removed her clothing, and ran bare chested towards the victim flailing the dagger. The caller drove away."

Officers later located Kettell and arrested her.

This was not Kettell's first run-in with police this year. The Cape Cod Times reported in April, Sandwich police arrested Kettell after she allegedly threw a rock through a store and stole potato chips late at night. Kettell told police she was "hungry and wanted food," according to the Times. She pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property, the Times reported.

In August, Kettell was charged with assaulting a household member in Sandwich, according to the Sandwich Enterprise.
