Cape Man Arraigned After Cops Find Fentanyl, Explosive Making Setup In Home

Police on Cape Cod searched the residence after two people were found dead inside on Monday. Their roommate now faces charges.

CHATHAM, MA — Two people were found dead inside a Cape Cod residence this week. Now a third person, their roommate, faces charges ranging from fentanyl traffic to possessing explosive materials.

The Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office announced on Tuesday that Andreas Miller, 43, of Chatham, was arraigned on two charges.

This comes after police were called to a Chatham residence on Monday. They arrived to find a 30-year-old woman dead from an apparent overdose and a 55-year-old man dead from what they said was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officials found that Miller was the third person who lived at the residence, prompting them to issue a search warrant. Police found "materials used as precursor powders and materials consistent with making homemade explosives, approximately 75 grams of pressed fentanyl pills, white powder of suspected fentanyl and approximately $50,000 cash," they said.

At court on Tuesday, a motion was filed to hold Miller without bail "as a danger to the community." A hearing on that motion was scheduled for Wednesday, and Miller was held without bail prior to it.
