Cape Symphony's Hyannis 4th Of July Concert Canceled
The Joy4July concert scheduled at Aselton Park is canceled due to the inclement weather forecast, officials said.
HYANNIS, MA — One of the most anticipated events on the July 4 schedule in Hyannis is canceled.
The Cape Symphony won't be playing its Joy4July concert as bad weather in the forecast has forced them to cancel.
"We regret to announce that due to the inclement weather forecast, Cape Symphony’s Joy4July concert in Aselton Park in Hyannis at 8pm on July 4th has been cancelled. There is no rain date scheduled," officials said.

The weather forecast may have canceled the concert, but there are still a number of events on the 4th of July schedule in Hyannis.

July 4 Festivities
What: West Barnstable Village Parade
Where: Barnstable Village
When: 9 a.m.
Patriotic-themed floats parade through Barnstable Village with youth activities after at the Hollow playground area.
What: Centerville Village Parade
Where: Centerville Elementary School
When: 10:30 a.m.
The parade happens after the raising of the flag, the pledge of allegiance and singing of "America the Beautiful". a Centerville Fire Truck and Scout Troop 54 Color Guard leads those walking, riding decorated bicycles, pulling floats, and being pushed in strollers to proceed onto Bumps River Road, Park Avenue, then Main Street, ending at the Centerville Recreation Center rear parking lot. Awards are given for the best float and best decorated bicycle.
What: Cotuit Village Parade
Where: School Street
When: 11 a.m.
The Parade will begin on School Street at 11:00 AM and then make a left on Main Street and continue down to the former Cotuit Elementary School property ending at the public field behind the school building.
What: Hyannis Harbor Boat Parade
Where: Hyannis Marina
When: 4:30 p.m.
Boats will circle the inner harbor and show off their civic pride to the many hundreds of spectators that gather each year along the waterfront at Bismore Park.
What: Downtown Hyannis Celebration
Where: Main Street and the Hyannis Village Green
When: 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Downtown Hyannis will be closed to vehicle traffic from 5 to 7:30 pm and alive with music and dance on Main Street and at the Hyannis Village Green and Bandstand, leading up to a tradition in the making with Cape Symphony performing a free concert at Aselton Park. Pop-up musical performances and deejays will be stationed in locations along Hyannis Main Street during dinner hours.
Parking and Transportation
There are several municipal lots in downtown Hyannis where free parking is available for up to six hours in a number of municipal lots in downtown Hyannis. Metered spaces in other locations can be accessed through https://www.mpay2park.com/ or by paying at the kiosks in those lots.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) has hourly parking available after the first 30 minutes free at the Hyannis Transportation Center. Long-term parking is also available for daily rates.
CCRTA will be operating the seasonal Hyannis Trolley on its regular route with a loop every 45 minutes throughout the day, officials said.
