The Board of Trustees now will arrange visits to Cape Cod Community College for each of the candidates, where conversations with trustees, students, and staff will take place. A delegation from the Board will visit each of the finalists' campuses prior to the entire Board coming back together to discuss the interviews and visits.

It then makes a final selection and recommends that individual to Massachusetts Commissioner of Higher Education Richard Freeland as the successor to Kathleen Schatzberg who retires at the end of June 2012, having completed 14 years at the helm of the College.

The Commissioner's approval is the final step in the selection process. The Board is hoping to make that recommendation before the end of the year.
