CCCC Presidential Search Committee Names 7 Semi-Finalists

Interviews begin Nov. 3.

The search process to name a successor to retiring Cape Cod Community College President Kathleen Schatzberg has reached a milestone, as the Search Committee announces seven semi-finalists. Interviews will begin November 3rd.

“The recruitment of candidates went very well and we had an outstanding pool of candidates,” stated Search Committee Chair, and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees Ralph Cahoon III. “We received 74 applications that included presidents, provosts, vice presidents and deans from institutions throughout the nation.  We have selected as semi-finalists a diverse group of candidates who represent a broad and impressive range of experience and leadership skills. Information on the semifinal candidates and the preliminary interview schedule is listed below. I take this opportunity to thank the Presidential Search Committee for their dedication, their commitment, and their hard work on behalf of the College,” he concluded.

Individual interviews will be conducted by members of the Search Committee. They will be open for the public to observe, but questions will not be taken from those attending interview sessions. Following these interviews, the Search Committee will make its recommendation of finalists to the full Board of Trustees. From there, the Board will proceed with further interviews of the final candidates.

During the finalists’ interview period, on-campus forums will be held with each candidate to allow members of the College community to discuss campus issues, and Trustees will visit the campus of each finalist to gain further insight into leadership and management style.

Once all interviews, forums, and visits have been completed, the Board will convene to select the College’s next President, sometime before the end of the year, if all activities proceed as planned. Semi-finalist candidates and their most recent positions are:
