Coronavirus Barnstable: School Employee Tests Positive
Students and staff at Barnstable Community Innovation School should self-quarantine, school officials said.

BARNSTABLE, MA — An employee at the Barnstable Community Innovation School has tested positive for the new coronavirus, Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown said in a statement. The staff member is the wife of the Sandwich man who was confirmed Saturday as the first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 on Cape Cod.
School officials said medical experts have advised all students and faculty of the school to self-quarantine through March 20. Staff and students should watch for symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath, and contact their primary care doctor if they show symptoms.
"Please contact your primary care physician if you or your child experiences any of these symptoms," Mayo-Brown said in a statement. "Also, please remember, during this difficult time, it is important to respect the privacy of the impacted staff member and their family."
