Dead Shark Washes Up On Cape Cod Beach

The porbeagle shark was found on First Encounter Beach in Eastham, but was already dead when first responders arrived.

EASTHAM, MA — A dead shark washed up on shore of a Cape Cod beach Thursday, according to officials with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

The porbeagle shark was found on First Encounter Beach in Eastham, but was already dead when first responders arrived.

Marine researchers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Fisheries Service Apex Predator Program will conduct a necropsy to determine how the shark died.
