Some of Cape Cod’s noted poets, playwrights and storytellers will perform at the Centerville Historical Museum in an Evening of Poetry, Readings and Stories. These accomplished artists include Susan Berlin, Christine Rathbun Ernst, Diane Hanna, Kathleen Healy and Gregory Hischak, and they will entertain and delight with their wit, talent and insights.
Susan Berlin’s poems have been widely published. She was twice a finalist for the National Poetry Series, was awarded first prize in the 16th Annual Galway Kinnell Poetry Contest by the Rhode Island Arts Council, and she received an International Publication Prize and an International Merit Award from Atlanta Review. She lives in Yarmouth Port.
Christine Rathbun Ernst, a writer-poet-performer from Sandwich, regularly performs on stage and at open mics on the Cape. Her acclaimed one-woman show, Reconstruction, or How I Learned to Pay Attention, has been performed more than 40 times in New England. She read her collection, The Further Adventures of a Fat Ass Cancer Bitch, to sold-out houses at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.

Diane Hanna is a writer, blogger and storyteller who frequently appears at events on Cape Cod. She is the author of Say It Right, a practical, user-friendly guide to speaking good English. Her nostalgic, witty and observant story pictures can be found at her website, www.dianehanna.com.
Kathleen Healy lives in Harwich where she participates in poetry open mic nights and hosts a singer/songwriter night once a month. Kathleen has appeared locally both as a member of a folk quartet and as a solo performer. When she is not writing poetry or composing music, Kathleen leads area preschool children in song and teaches creative movement classes.

Gregory Hischak, South Yarmouth poet and playwright, constantly warns people of the danger of poetry but is never heeded. He has won the Grand Prize in the Clauder Competition for his work, and for The Center of Gravity, he was selected as finalist in the Mass Cultural Council playwriting competition. His collection Parts and Labor will be published by Pond Road Press in March 2012.
