Small Plane Crashes In Hyannis: Reports
The plane overturned Thursday afternoon and the pilot was slightly injured. No one else was aboard.
HYANNIS, MA — A small private plane crashed Thursday afternoon at Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis, flipping over during a landing and causing minor injuries to the pilot.
No one else was aboard the Bearhawk LSA-8X aircraft when it overturned around 3:30 p.m. on Runway 24, according to multiple reports. Officials shut down the airport after the accident, but resumed operations around 4:15 p.m.
The pilot walked away from the plane and was evaluated and treated at the scene. Fire, police and airport crews also contained a small leak of fuel that seeped into grass along the runway.

The plane was coming from Falmouth, reports said.
The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the matter, according to a statement.

The Bearhawk LSA-8X is a light plane designed for amateur or experimental use, with a wingspan of 34 feet. Only a couple dozen of them are registered in the U.S.
