In Imperial China, as in most of Asia today, no building is erected or bought without the prior advice of a Feng Shui expert. The selection of the site, the orientation of the building or house and the timing of the purchase and ground breaking are carefully defined and planned so as to maximize the energy of the owners.
Marie-Pierre Dillenseger will present the fundamentals of the ancient discipline of Feng Shui and provide perspective on the contemporary forms of this art. During her presentation, Ms. Dillenseger will also relate the principles of Feng Shui that are incorporated into Chinese objects from the Centerville Museum’s collection, which includes more than forty snuff bottles of jade, onyx, ivory, porcelain and glass that are currently being exhibited.
Marie-Pierre Dillenseger holds a Master Degree in Library Science and a post-graduate degree in French Literature. Fascinated by the emerging Asian approach to business, and confronted with the western reluctance to integrate “Space and Time” as key factors to success, she embarked on learning Chinese Metaphysics. In 2002, she received the title of Master, by Chinese Master Joseph Yu. In 1999, she established the Feng Shui Research Center France and has trained more than 300 professional practitioners in Paris. She speaks frequently and is interviewed and quoted regularly in the French media on the practice of Feng Shui.
