Man In Fatal Cape Crash Had Bail Reduced In Shooting
Mickey Rivera was expected to appear in court this week for a pre-trial hearing in the 2015 case.

COTUIT, MA – A 22-year-old Fall River man who died in a head-on Cotuit crash that killed a combat veteran from Mashpee was charged in a fatal shooting in 2015, according to reports. Mickey Rivera had his bail reduced from $35,000 to $1,000 last September and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing.
That year Rivera was also charged with armed and masked home invasion, armed assault and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, which were dropped due to identification problems, the Bristol County District Attorney's office told WHDH.
Authorities say Rivera was behind the wheel of a Toyota sedan that collided with an SUV driven by 32-year-old Kevin Quinn, a Marine who was on his way home from visiting his wife and newborn daughter in the hospital. Rivera and his passenger were thrown from the car, which split in half and caught fire.
