Hy-West Holds Special Family Picnic

On Thursday May 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hyannis West Elementary School, the Barnstable Public Schools’ English Language Development program will be having its first annual "English Language Learner Family Picnic." 

Bilingual and non-English speaking families with students in the district have been invited to attend, along with our teachers and staff from the program. Foods from different cultures will be shared along with the traditional American cookout menu of hamburgers and hotdogs. 

While attendance at the picnic is limited to the students, families and staff of the program, this event is a wonderful opportunity for the media to bear witness to the breadth and depth of diversity at the Barnstable Public Schools - while all are sharing fun and food!
